Türk Telekom not to charge clients for fixed-line calls during Ramadan, Eid
Speaking at the launch of this new campaign in Antalya, Türk Telekom Marketing and Communications Director Erem Demircan said nearly 500,000 clients changed their rates to the Ev Avantaj plan each month between March and July. Those who do the same in the coming month will also benefit from the campaign. “We present this as an indication and a part of our future campaigns for Ev Avantaj subscribers,” Demircan said.
Recently, Türk Telekom prolonged its earlier “7’den 7’ye” (From 7 to 7) campaign, under which clients can make fixed-line calls from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. without being charged until the end of this year.
Also speaking at the event, Türk Telekom Sales Manager Aydın Çamlıbel noted the success similar Türk Telekom campaigns have had in the past and the increasing usage of fixed-line phones in Turkey. “As opposed to the trend in the rest of the world, we managed to increase fixed-line usage in Turkey. This is an indication that our services and prices are perceived positively. Just through Ev Avantaj people saved TL 350 million,” he said, adding that the Türk Telekom receives between 130,000-150,000 new clients each month.
Demircan also gave figures reflecting Türk Telekom’s contributions to the Turkish economy. He said they had made TL 8 billion worth of investments since 2005, in addition to hiring 3,500 new employees just in the first half of this year.
