'Turkey built over 1000 houses for Indonesia tsunami victims'

Turkey's Ambassador to Indonesia Aydın Evirgen said Turkey was one of the first countries that extended helping hand to victims from a tsunami in 2004 in Banda Aceh, adding that 1050 houses had been built for those who had lost their homes in the disaster.

"Turkey has become the first country to complete its projects in Indonesia," Evirgen said.

The Turkish ambassador said that apart from its urgent relief efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami, Turkey also facilitated the construction of 1050 houses, three schools and restored part of a hospital which was damaged in the tsunami.
