No rain forecast but fog expected during Eid al-Adha vacation

Meteorologists expect mostly clear weather during the Eid, but they also warn against heavy fog in inland areas on Friday.
Meteorologists expect mostly clear weather during the Eid, but they also warn against heavy fog in inland areas on Friday.
As the four-day break for Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice, Kurban Bayramı in Turkish) approaches, many are wondering what the weather will be like and what to pack for mini-vacations. State meteorologists say that while there may be heavy fog in some areas of the nation, overall it should be a clear holiday free of rain.

Meteorologists warn that heavy fog in inland areas will affect road conditions as well as plane travel and advise motorists to take extra care to avoid accidents over the holiday weekend. The Black Sea region should be free of both fog and rain, while the Marmara region should see heavy fog on Thursday and Friday, the first day of Eid. In particular İstanbul should see heavy fog, but there should be no significant drop in temperature, meteorologists say, with the weather remaining constant at 15-17 degrees Celsius during the day.

In the Aegean temperatures are expected to hover around 20 degrees Celsius, with clear skies also forecast. The Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia regions are expecting fog on the first day of Eid, with Central Anatolia temperatures varying between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius. In the Southeast, forecasts are as follows for the first day of Eid in some provinces: 16 degrees Celsius in Gaziantep, 14 degrees in Mardin and 7 degrees in Hakkari. Clear skies should reign in the Mediterranean region.

Leading into the Eid weekend, however, scattered showers are expected in the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions.
