The Ankara State Opera’s production of “Idomeneo,” directed by Mehmet Ergüven, will open Wednesday evening at the Ankara Opera House. Based on an ancient Greek story, “Idomeneo” takes place on the island of Crete shortly after the Trojan War and tells about the love between the daughter of Trojan King Priamos and the son of Cretan King Idomeneo, Priamos’ archenemy. The opera will also be staged on Dec. 2 and 16.
