The festival’s opening, held by the Association of Documentary Filmmakers in Turkey (BSB), will take place at the Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall on Dec. 3 with the participation of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) official Peter van Bueren, former European Documentary Network (EDN) director Tue Steen Müller and several other directors.

In addition to the screening of documentaries, activities including panels, discussions and workshops will take place during the festival.

Featuring about 80 documentaries, the festival will also show documentaries from the festival’s archives which were not screened at the previous festivals; documentaries about music, including Adam Clitheroe’s “One Man in the Band” and Stefan Bohun’s “Mata Tigre”; a retrospective of Cuban documentaries, including the world premiere of Gloria Argüelles’ “A History in Black and White”; as well as documentaries from Turkey.

The documentary screenings and the festival’s side events will take place at various venues including the French Cultural Center, the Pera Museum’s Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation and the Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center, while Galatasaray University will host a conference.
