Cousins Gökmen (4) and Sebahi Tosun went missing in the village of  Büyük Davdanlı on Wednesday, and gendarmerie search-and-rescue teams had been searching for them ever since when they were located yesterday. Gökmen Tosun had already perished from exposure by the time the teams reached the children, while Sebahi Tosun was alive but was suffering from severe hypothermia. Sebahi was taken via air ambulance from where he was found in Elmadağ to the Ankara Atatürk Teaching and Research Hospital. Doctors there reportedly worked to elevate his body temperature and treat him for exposure. The child remains in critical condition.

The father of Sebahi Tosun, who had returned to Turkey from abroad when he heard his child had gone missing, accompanied his son in the air ambulance.
