Cooler weather,
rain expected this week across country

Temperatures are expected to decrease over the next seven days, while heavy rain will be seen late in the week across the country, meteorologists said on Monday.

According to the State Meteorology Directorate, cloudy weather will reign countrywide with a decrease in temperatures by two to three degrees. While localized rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced in some regions until Thursday, rain will drench a majority of the country over the weekend. Weather in the Marmara region will be mostly cloudy this week, and rainfall is expected in most parts of the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. İstanbul will also be affected by short rain showers and strong winds. The weather will get colder from Thursday on, and rain showers will be heavier. While wet weather is not expected until Wednesday in Central Anatolia, the region will be rainy from Wednesday on. The Aegean provinces, which were rainy on Monday, will also be affected by short bouts of rainfall throughout the week. Weather in the Mediterranean region will also be cloudy, but temperatures will not decrease significantly. Rainy weather is also expected from today in the eastern Anatolian provinces, Malatya and Van in particular. While no rain is expected in the Black Sea region today, showers will start around Bolu and Karabük on Wednesday. Heavy rain and strong winds are expected in the region from Thursday on.
