HOSPITAL LIKE GATA TO SİLİVRİ
33 doctors from different branches were appointed to Silivri State Hospital to which Ergenekon suspects are sent.
Silivri State Hospital is the first institution where the Ergenekon suspects are sent when they become sick. Following their checks in the hospital, the patients have been sent to other hospitals as there were not any experts on related branches.
This process both increased the bureaucracy and prolonged treatment of the suspects.
Health Ministry took a step and sent 33 expert doctors to Silivri Hospital.
PERIOD IN CASH REPATRIATION LAW EXTENDED TO END OF YEAR
Government provided a new opportunity to the savings of people in Cash Repatriation Law which has taken effect aiming to provide finance to economy.
Council of Ministers extended the period to the end of the year. The new deadline is December 31, 2009, the third phase of the efforts to include savings of people who live abroad to economy.

WE ARE NOT OBLIGED TO IMF
Faik Acikalin, director general of Yapi Kredi Bankasi, said the main economic indicators showed that Turkey was not obliged to reach an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Commenting on Turkey's relations with the IMF, Acikalin said a deal with IMF would have positive effects. "However, the recent economic indicators and country's arithmetics show that Turkey is not obliged to sign a deal with IMF."
Acikalin also said the banking sector got lessons from the economic crisis of 2001 and serious problems were not seen during the recent global crisis. The director general defined the government's medium-term program as robust and rational.
SABANCI: DIFFICULT DAYS ARE LEFT BEHIND
Hosting a reception in Ankara, Sabancı Holding's chairperson Güler Sabancı said, "Turkey, with a strong capital and healthy financial sector, has left behind the difficult days of 2009. 2010 will be better."
AFTER SYRIA, SECOND VISA MOVE WITH IRAN
A free organized industrial zone will be set up to end smuggling. Visa will not be required while entering and leaving this zone.

MOTION TO BE SENT TO PARLIAMENT
The government decided to submit a request to the parliament on extension of the motion that authorizes the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) for cross-border military operations for another year. After the meeting of the Council of Ministers, government spokesman Cemil Cicek told a news conference that the government would ask the parliament to debate the request as soon as possible after the parliament enters the new legislative year on October 1. The current one-year mandate expires on October 17.
PRIME MINISTER ERDOĞAN CONGRATULATES MERKEL
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated German Chancellor Angela Merkel over her success in general elections and told her that he hoped the election results would make a positive impact on Turkish-German relations. During phone conversation, Merkel told Erdoğan that she wanted to visit Turkey soon.

LAST FOOTAGE SHOWS THEIR JOY FOR CANDIES
Police in central province of Kayseri have mobilized to find three children who are missing since the Feast of Ramadan in Kayseri's Talas town, which has not seen any child abduction so far. Eight-year-old Ahmet Tekin and his sister six-year-old Dilruba Tekin, and their 11-year-old girl friend Turkan Ay were walking in the streets to collect candies during the feast that began on September 20. The three children have been missing since then. Their families are very miserable. Only one of the 47 surveillance cameras in the vicinity recorded the children, ringing the bells of apartments to collect candies. They are seen entering an apartment building. Dilruba and Ahmet are seen eating their treats with joy, Turkan was calm. This was the last footage in which children were all seen. All people living in the apartment building including a woman with a hood, who entered the building together with the kids, were interrogated. However, police see no involvement.

Besiktas soccer team, publicly called the "Black Eagles", will take on CSKA Moscow in their second group game in the Champions League in Russia. The game will kick-off at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at 7:30 p.m. and will be live on private Star TV channel.
GÜL TO ALSO JOIN 2012 ELECTIONS
The Council of Ministers has decided to pass an adjustment law to enable the election of the president for five years and his/her re-election, and election of the president by popular vote with an amendment to articles 101 and 102 of the Constitution. President Abdullah Gül's term in office will end in 2012 under this new arrangement. Thus, Gül can run for president for a second time.

SCANDAL MAP
A CD, distributed to schools in Istanbul by the National Education Provincial Directorate, showed Kirkuk, Mosul, Irbil, Batumi and Nakhchevan inside Turkey's borders.
The map and other information in the CD were prepared by the Directorate during the term of former director.
The new director Muammer Yildiz has launched an investigation into the map. He said, "the map was overlooked but it has no excuse."
KURDISH MOVE OVERSHADOWED BY "STATEMENT BY POLICE FORCE"
An Ankara court ruled that two deputies from Democratic Society Party (DTP), Emine Ayna and Selahattin Demirtas, who were sued but did not go to court to testify, should be brought to court by police force.
DTP chairman Ahmet Turk criticized the court ruling, saying "Turkey would be the loser, we have nothing to lose."
The ruling also caused a difference of opinion among legists. Some said it did not comply with the political immunity.
CAPTAIN AYSUN SOON TO BE FREED
The operating company of the hijacked Turkish ship, Horizon-1, told families of crew members, including the fourth captain, Aysun Akbay, that they had reached an agreement with pirates.

HUGE BLOW ON ORGAN TRAFFICKERS
The police force in the southern province of Antalya waged operations in five provinces and detained 29 organ traffickers. Police found out that traffickers paid 25,000-30,000 TL to people living in Kislacik village in the Aegean province of Afyonkarahisar to take their several organs.

Gül'S TERM IN OFFICE TO EXPIRE IN 2012
President Abdullah Gül will stay in Cankaya Palace for 5 years. Gül will be able to run candidacy again in 2012 in presidential election which would for the first time take place by popular vote.
The government concluded the discussions on constitutional amendment regarding election of the president by popular vote with 5 5 formula.
Government spokesman Cemil Cicek said 5-year term in office for the president has become a law. Thus, it has become clear that presidential election will take place in 2012.
President Gül may re-run for president that will be elected for the first time through popular vote.
UNDERMINE OPPOSITION, PUT AN END TO ISSUE
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke clearly during the meeting she had with the Turkish and Armenian foreign ministers in New York.
To Turkey: Don't care about the opposition in your country. Reach consensus with the Armenians soon. Normalisation process should take place in a logical timetable without any precondition.
To Armenia: We know that Armenian President Sargsian was formally invited to Turkey-Armenia match. If Sargsian goes to Turkey to watch the match, it will be very good.

RACISM INSIDE US
Rate of religious and ethnic discrimination is frightful. A survey revealed that Turkish people do not want atheist, Jewish or Christian neighbors. Turkish people do not also want them to have posts at state organizations.
57 percent of people who were surveyed said they do not want to live next to atheist neighbors. Unwelcomed neighbors include Jews with 42 percent and Christians with 35 percent.
57 percent of the people said they do not want non-Muslim people to work at the National Intelligence Agency, 55 percent do not want them in judiciary, 55 percent do not want them in police organization and in the army, 51 percent do not want them in political parties.
STONE-THROWING KIDS NOT TO BE TREATED AS TERRORISTS
The Ministry of Justice has prepared a draft law for kids who were sentenced to severe punishment -- just like members of the terrorist organization-- for throwing stones at police during illegal demonstrations. According to the draft law, kids younger than 18 years old will not be tried at high criminal courts that have special authorities.
