Turkey extradites Albanian mob leader
Turkey extradited on Wednesday to Albania leader of a criminal syndicate who had been sought for the murder of at least 15 people between 1997 and 2001.

The mob leader, Alfred Shkurti a.k.a Aldo Bare, was transported to Tirana and delivered to the Albanian special forces under tight security measures at the Tirana International Airport.

Shkurti fled from Albania after a court sentenced him to 25 years in prison. He was arrested in Ankara in March 2006 after remaining at large for five years in Eastern Europe and in Turkey under false identities.

Shkurti's crime record includes ordering the murder of a local police officer in 2001 and bomb attacks against several police chiefs investigating his criminal activity.

Also, he had organised one the most outreaching drug trafficking networks ever in Albania.
