Çiçek is an important person, but…
Senior Col. Dursun Çiçek was released within 18 hours of his arrest. Certainly the hasty appointment of someone to the empty member seat on the 14th High Criminal Court and the acceleration of the appeals process to his arrest have led to suspicion. The view that the military continues to cast a cloud over the judiciary is back on the agenda.

As you travel around Turkey you will probably notice a car pulled to the side of the road and a large rock or a pile of rocks on the road about 10 meters behind the car instead of the driver turning on the car's emergency lights.
