Erdogan Demands NATO Involvement in Fight Against PKK

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has proposed that NATO should become involved in the fight against the PKK terror organization in the same way it became involved in the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan.

Erdogan told reporters on Ekinlik Island on Tuesday that NATO should send troops to northern Iraq. "NATO should become active in the north of Iraq as in Afghanistan."

Erdogan added that Turkey would do the job herself if the three-party mechanism of the US, Turkey and Iraq failed to tackle the PKK terrorists hiding in north Iraq.
