Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, state ministers Hayati Yazıcı and Cevdet Yılmaz, National Defense Minister Vecdi Gönül, Interior Minister Beşir Atalay, Health Minister Recep Akdağ, Transportation Minister Binali Yıldırım, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Mehdi Eker, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız and Environment and Forestry Minister Veysel Eroğlu are participating in the meeting.

Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani and interlocutors of Turkish ministers are representing Syria in the meeting.

"The main slogan of this meeting is common destiny, history and future, and we will build the future together," Davutoğlu said during the opening ceremony of the meeting.

Davutoğlu also said that the two countries would celebrate lifting of visa procedures as a feast.

The Turkish minister said that Turkey and Syria could turn their economic cooperation into economic integration, and wished that their relations would be a model for other neighboring countries.

A press conference will take place after the meeting.

The morning session of the meeting is in Aleppo, and the afternoon session will take place in the Turkish southeastern city of Gaziantep.

Two countries are expected to sign a visa exemption agreement on the sidelines of the meeting.
