Fire of Anatolia burning on four different stages

Four troupes from Turkey's Anadolu Ateşi (Fire of Anatolia) dance company will stage the company's critically acclaimed shows in four locations on three continents over the next week, as the company continues to grow, with new dance schools opening in various Turkish cities and auditions for new dancers running almost nonstop year-round.

The Fire of Anatolia dancers will stage shows in Paris, Martinique, Ramallah and Antalya, according to a written statement the company issued this week.

One troupe is currently in the French capital for the opening performance of the Season of Turkey in France at Trocadéro Square on Saturday. Another will be on the Caribbean island of Martinique for four performances in the capital Fort-de-France on July 5-8 while a third troupe is set to travel to Palestine for a one-off show at the Ramallah Cultural Palace in the central West Bank next Tuesday. In the meantime, a fourth group of dancers continues to perform the company's revamped show “Anadolu Ateşi -- Evolution” twice every week as part of a residency at the Gloria Aspendos Arena in Antalya. The Martinique shows, the company's first-ever outing on the tiny eastern Caribbean island, were sold out weeks ago, the statement said.
