Altuğ Acar, Turkcell's head of business development, said on Wednesday in Adana that the company expects to offer their customers another “distinguished” service, making their lives easier to a great extent. “We are currently working on a new system that will transfer the functions of credit cards along with an integrated municipal toll and transit application,” he said, noting that the system has passed the tests so far. Acar said the transit application will be as easy as sending a text message. They will be able to load the necessary data onto smart cards as with a text message. With the new system, people will no longer have to carry their wallets as they will be able to do the same transactions solely through their cell phones, Acar went on to say, noting that the system is enhanced with high security features and carries no more risks than a normal credit card. “If a user loses their smart card or if it is stolen, then they will easily be able to cancel their accounts and open a new one via our call centers,” he added. As for the new cell phones that will use the Mobile Wallet system, Acar said they have been conducting infrastructure studies to design a new generation of phones.
