"Constitutions include articles that guarantee the state's legal structure and individuals' rights and freedom and that restrict the political authority in the country," he said. Birden also said he is against the idea of granting individuals the right to apply to the Constitutional Court individually.
"Efforts to draft a new constitution should be conducted with a consensus among all circles in the country, including political parties. Suggestions for constitutional changes should not be rejected with political prejudice, and they should be considered with the public's interests in mind," Birden added. He also said Article 104 of the Constitution, which regulates the duties and authorities of the president, should be revised.
