Fener Ülker maintains 100 percent TBL record

Defending champion Fenerbahçe Ülker remain unbeaten in the Beko men’s Turkish Basketball League (TBL) after three games, joining Türk Telekomspor and Galatasaray Cafe Crown at the top of the standings.

Fener beat Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi 73-69 at home in the Abdi İpekçi Arena on Sunday as Mirsad Türkcan scored 15 points and Devin Smith added 14 and eight rebounds. Efes Pilsen picked up its second win of the season by beating Mutlu Akü Selçuk Üniversitesi on the road 73-81. Charles Smith led Efes with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Kerem Gönlüm posted a double-double to pace the winner. Elsewhere on Sunday, Türk Telekomspor beat Casa TED Kolejliler 76-68 and Aliağa PETKIM outlasted Antalya Kepez Belediyesi 78-74. In the women’s Turkish Basketball (TBBL) League it was: BOTAS Spor 85, Çankaya Üniversitesi 80; Galatasaray 70, Ceyhan Belediyesi 54; and Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi 77, Fenerbahçe 82.
