The ministry says a small amount of the substance was found during a random sampling of Chinese products. It says the milkshake was not sold to customers and that no one has sickened by it.
The ministry said Thursday the tainted product came from a Chinese store in Vienna and is off the market.
Melamine-contaminated milk has killed four babies and sickened more than 50,000 children in mainland China.
