Seçim Köse, executive board director of the company, told the Anatolia news agency that around 30 people wearing masks assaulted workers at Turkish company B.N.N. Pegasus in Almaty. He noted that 40 workers were staying at the company camp where the attack was perpetrated and that the assailants used firearms and knives. The four workers injured in the assault have been hospitalized.

One of the assailants was captured and is being interrogated by Kazakh police, Köse said yesterday, while suggesting that a terrorist organization might be behind the attack. Nevertheless, Turkish Embassy officials in Almaty told the Anatolia news agency that it was not yet possible to comment on the motives behind the attack as the related investigation has not been completed. Meanwhile, Kazakh police have confiscated the passports of the Turkish workers residing at the Pegasus camp until the investigation is completed.
