Koramaz was talking to the Anatolia news agency on Sunday in Mersin, where he participated in the Solar Energy Systems Symposium organized by the TMMOB. He emphasized the importance of oil-fuelled and hydroelectric energy, adding that “these sources, from now on, have become measures that determine the sovereignty and independence of a nation.” He noted that problems with providing cheap, continuous and reliable energy are “one of the most important issues facing Turkey.” He also emphasized that the lack of a strategic plan and perceiving energy generation as a simple market activity were compounding the energy problem.
