Our country, which is impatiently waiting for the election of its president through the constitutional procedure, to hold general elections at the scheduled time and then “open its wings to fly,” has been covered by black clouds. At this point it looks like there is no other way than to freeze the presidential elections, go for the early elections without awaiting the Constitutional Court’s decision and elect the new president and new Parliament. The best course for the current government is to go to its people as soon as possible, lodge a complaint against those threatening a coup and ask the people to react to this crisis. However from the other side it is clear that the election results will not make coup supporters happy, furthermore it will corner them worse than before. Forasmuch the last event has completely turned these elections into a democratic referendum. People will vote not for the parties in the coming elections, but for the democratic regime.
