Amway, that opened the Amway European Advertisement Center (AEAC), and has been

conducting its activities in the sphere of free

enterprise education, promotion of products and services since 1971, aims as a target to increase the enterprises dealing more in information business know-how and hardware.

Amway, for the first time opened the doors of the advertisement center to Turkish and foreign press members in late 2003, and then swung into action.

Amway offers information on job opportunities, the methods of establishing a business and types of services at establishments called 'brand experience centers.'

During the training process, in which participatory computers and the multivision system are used, Amway presents detailed information on four main production goods, such as, house care products, individual care products, Nutriway (vitamin, mineral supplements and nutritional support) and Artistry (skin care and cosmetics).

The virtual business and marketing platform, VEBSO, was opened by Amway for free entrepreneurs at the center that runs all the product tests.

The promotion center, established in Istanbul's

Kozyatagi in 1999, has become a model for ARPC, the first promotion center in Europe.

Stating that the company established the promotion center in Turkey to offer training and promotion support to free enterprises, Amway Turkey General Manager Tayfun Ergun said, "When the model used

for the first time in Turkey became a huge success, the Amway administration decided to expand it. The first enlarged promotion center was established in Vienna after Istanbul. This center will play a very significant role in developing tasks of Amway's free enterprises in Europe, South Africa and Turkey."

At least 5,500 free enterprises from 14 different states will be receiving training at the promotion center starting today.

Sales in Turkey increase 100%

Amway, that entered the Turkish market in 1994, has over 35,000 free entrepreneurs nationwide. Its headquarters and main distribution centers are based in Izmir.

Ergun also said that the company realized US$10 million from sales last year and expects this figure to increase by 100 percent to US$20 million.

According to the Amway calendar, August is the end of the fiscal year. Ergun indicated that the economic improvement [in the country] was also effective in contributing to this increase as well as their endeavors and training activities.

Ergun stated that there are people from various parts of Turkey among the free entrepreneurs, and also around the globe.

Candan Corbanoglu, who was appointed as Amway Eastern Europe Foreign Relations Officer from Amway Marketing Manager, said that their selling system with no financial risks has contributed greatly to women having their own businesses and participating in economic life.

Cobanoglu, indicating that the majority of the free entrepreneurs are women, said women feel themselves freer as a result of this, adding that their efficiency in social life has also increased a great deal.

Amway, doing business in 80 countries around the world, realized a turnover of US$4.9 billion last year with 3 million entrepreneurs. Amway that has hundreds of products - from beauty care to kitchen cleaning - produces its goods mainly in the United States.
