There is no longer the CHP which used to oppose the Kurdish initiative launched by the government and played the same role with the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). This is no longer the CHP which left Parliament in protest of the Justice and Development Party’s (AK Party) Kurdish initiative. This is a new CHP which feels the need to extend its own hand for a solution to the Kurdish problem and wants to become an effective actor in problem-solving. When a terrorist attack takes place tomorrow, the MHP leader will most probably tell the CHP and the AK Party that it is the result of their policies. But it is high time that that train left. The marginal group in Parliament today is the MHP.
