Viktoria Rebensburg of Germany led the final women's giant slalom of the season on Sunday after the opening run to have all but secured the discipline title.
Rebensburg holds a 95-point lead over Lindsey Vonn, who can only snatch the title if she wins the race and Rebensburg fails to score points. However, Vonn was 2.68 seconds back after the opening run. The American overall champion finished 16th and needs to improve to 12th to set a new record for the most points scored in one World Cup season. The current best mark is 2,000 points set by Austria's Hermann Maier 12 years ago.
