Galatasaray’s Swedish football star Johan Elmander expressed confidence in his team, which is leading the Super Finals by two points, saying they still have the upper hand in the Super League championship playoffs.
Forward Elmander, in statements to the press, acknowledged that the Lions were very unlucky in last Sunday’s derby against Fenerbahçe, but added that despite everything the advantage remains in his team’s hands. “The Fenerbahçe game disappointed me greatly. We deserved to win, but football is like that. Sometimes you play very well and still lose. We fought very well as a team; we just could not get the ball into the goal,” the Cihan news agency reported Elmander as having said. “There is still a 2 percentage-point difference between us and Fenerbahçe, and everything is still within our grasp,” he said. “A very difficult match awaits us when we face off against Trabzonspor.” Elmander said the Lions’ upcoming opponent is a “very good team ... that has shown they can play football.”
