Heavy snow disrupted daily life on Wednesday as well, leading to the closure of schools in 14 provinces. The lowest temperature in eastern Turkey registered at -29 degrees Celsius in the province of Ağrı, the highest elevated province in Turkey, during the week.

The harsh weather led to many traffic accidents across the country. Authorities warned drivers to be more careful due to the poor weather conditions. Three people were killed when a trailer truck and car collided due to slippery conditions caused by snowfall on roads in İstanbul's Sancaktepe district on Wednesday. Forty-three passengers were injured after a bus skidded on an icy road and slid into a ditch on Thursday in the central province of Niğde. Moreover, many people, especially in the eastern provinces, were stuck on snowy village roads. A group of 99 people, including 11 teachers and 35 students, were stuck on due to heavy snow in the Güçlükonak district of the eastern Şırnak province on Thursday. They were eventually rescued by soldiers.

The harsh weather also affected animals. Five stray donkeys were found huddled together against the cold and snow in a village 35 kilometers away from the central town of Siverek in Şanlıurfa province. The donkeys were taken to a nearby stable by villagers on Thursday. The donkeys packed themselves tightly together to conserve body heat and this is what probably kept them alive.

Occasional obstructions caused by snowstorms along the road to Bolu's mountains could be seen, with the depth of snow expected to reach 25 centimeters in the region.
