Turkish runner Nevin Yanıt qualified for the semi-finals of the 100-meter hurdle at the 2012 London Olympics after winning her first-round heat on Monday, clocking in at 12.70 seconds.

Yanıt in 2010 emerged triumphant from the 20th European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, where she clinched the gold in the women's 100-meter hurdle, becoming the first Turk to win a medal at the event. She is now the Turkish athlete closest to winning a gold medal at the London Olympics as the country has been so far unable to win a single medal at the competition.

Is Turkey´s lack of medals the reason of a turk´s plot to bomb a market in Gibraltar? So much for Turkey's sportive contribution on this otherwise very entertaining event. Stop inbreeding, turks. Then you might win something too in a generation or two.

@meat, The only reason for them to wear these clothes is due to comfort and the aerodynamics. Since 100m is about 1/100 of a second, it does matter if you have these type of clothing or a football short. They also need to be able to freely move the legs, since it's hurdle jumping.

Meat: They should be able to have alternatives yes. If you think it's disgusting, then don't watch. No one is forcing you. Frankly i think it's more disgusting that you can't control your sexual urges and blames the women for that fact.

Women should be able to compete in sport but do they have to be in there underwear when racing. men wear long shorts and full length tops so why cant they. It looks disgusting how these women dress and immorale.
