Two detained in operations against DHKP/C in İstanbul

3 August 2012 / TODAYSZAMAN.COM
The İstanbul Police Department's anti-terrorism unit raided several locations, detaining two people alleged to be members of the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C) on Friday.

A man and a woman who are suspected of being DHKP/C members were brought to the Council of Forensic Medicine (ATK) in İstanbul's Yenibosna district for routine checkups. The two chanted slogans as they were getting out of the police car. Following the medical examination, they were both brought back to police headquarters.

Initial news reports said the two were detained due to connections with individuals charged with plotting a botched attack on the İstanbul Police Department last week.
