UK mediating between Turkey and Israel to mend ties, report says

2 August 2012, Thursday /TODAYSZAMAN.COM
The UK has begun mediating between Turkey and Israel to help mend broken ties between the two countries, an Israeli daily claimed on Thursday.

Haaretz reported that the British government is delivering messages between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, but that no formula has yet been found to bridge the gap.

The report claimed that British Prime Minister David Cameron had asked Netanyahu whether he wanted to deliver a message to Erdoğan ahead of his meeting with Erdoğan in London on July 27. The daily did not report on the content of Netanyahu's message, but did say Cameron delivered a message.

Relations between the long-time allies in the Middle East deteriorated sharply after Israeli commandos killed eight Turks and one Turkish-American during a 2010 raid on an aid ship trying to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza. Turkey has sued Israel in international platforms and courts and demands an official apology and compensation for the families of the victims.

Israel rejects the demands and claims its soldiers acted in self-defense. Turkey has also expelled the Israeli envoy and cut military ties with Israel in protest of an Israeli refusal to apologize for the killings.

Here is very simple challenge: Produce me a list of a Million JEWS killed during the holocaust time from your serous historians??? You must have them because you have all Nazi documents. Is that so hard in such computer age? What Nazi did to Jews is nothing compared what they now doing in Palestine...

Yes, many more than Jews were killed in Nazi death camps: mentally ill, gays, political prisoners, etc. When we say "The Holocaust" in the west, though, we mean the slaughter of Jews by the Nazis. The number killed is six million. If it isn't borned in you as a descendant of perpetrators and a ne...

During the WWII, Turkey helped Hebrew people to escape the consentration camps, by giving them a Turkish Citizenchip. For which I am proud of it. You should be too! Both Turkey and Israel should be reminded of those events and be thank'ful. And be respect'ful to each others CITIZENS and HISTORY! Tur...
If I say as Muslim holocaust happened, but not only to Jews and not to 6 million Jews. Can anyone prove me the opposite??? If you can, why do you and then publish it on the web where everyone can see it and no one can denied it. BUT, the point is you CAN'T POROVE IT.

Only yesterday the speaker of Hamas denied the holocaust. The IHH ship went to help holocaust deniers and terrorists who killed hundreds of Israeli civilians- and Turkey expects Israel to apologize? What would Turkey do if Israelis were helping PKK?
Mr Cameron, if you are already here in the middle east, please try to mediate between erdogan and BB, erdogan and Assad, erdogan and Alayev, turkey and Armenia, turkey and Iran, erdogan and al-Maliki (PM of IRAQ), Turkey and Kurds,...
