PM Erdoğan takes strong lead in media appearance report

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is strongly in the lead in terms of media appearances, according to the findings of a report tallying the appearances of Turkish politicians since June 2011.

The report, published by the Ajans Press Media Monitoring Center, tallies the media appearances of politicians since June 2011, with Erdoğan in first place at 148,212.

Erdoğan is followed by main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu with 30,660 appearances; showing that Erdoğan outstrips his closest rival by fivefold. Kılıçdaroğlu is followed by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu with 21,718 appearances and Parliament Speaker Cemil Çiçek with 19,736.

In fifth place is Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan with 18,303 appearances, followed by Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç with 16,086, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız with 15,536, Labor and Social Security Minister Faruk Çelik with 14,890, Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yıldırım with 14,270 and, lastly, Youth and Sports Minister Suat Kılıç, the youngest minister in the Cabinet, with 14,256 appearances.
