The meet, sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and TİAD, a Turkish businessmen's association, is expected to attract around 40,000 visitors from 60 countries, including Eurasian manufacturing superpowers China, South Korea and Taiwan. The meeting will bring some of the world's largest producers of machine tools, metal processing machines, welding, cutting and drilling technologies and testing equipment.
Held at the Tüyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center, in the Büyükçekmece suburb of İstanbul, the fair will be organized in 12 halls and host over 1,000 companies. Touted as the “meeting point of the sector in Eurasia” the meet, say organizers, will from 2012 onwards be held every two years in İstanbul.
