Germany slams Syrian threat of chemical weapons

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle is sharply condemning Syria's threat to use chemical and biological weapons in response to a foreign attack.

Westerwelle said the statement made Monday at a press conference by Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdissi was "outrageous."

Westerwelle says "this reveals once again the Syrian regime's lack of humanity."
