The history of the Middle East is like a history of wars. There was not a time when there were no conspiracies or traps in this region. And surely there may be those who desire to push Turkey into a war.
What is important now is not to make a move without carefully considering the probable results. Let’s have a look at the recent history of the Middle East: They made Iraq attack Kuwait and then they crushed Iraq. Making Iraq attack Iran, they battered both countries. They incited a civil war in Lebanon for years. They made Palestinian groups kill each other so recently that it is as if it was yesterday. They wearied Egypt, which had been on the rise under Gamal Abdel Nasser’s leadership, with three separate wars. They made charismatic and much-loved leader Nasser desperate. It is possible to cite further examples. You can say, “But they should not have taken the bait,” and you may be right in saying so. But it does not change the fact that some countries pushed these countries into war and that this is an ongoing scenario aiming to disintegrate this region.
