Fenerbahçe starts negotiations to sign Valencia's Topal

Fenerbahçe has officially announced on its website that it has informed the İstanbul Stock Exchange (İMKB) that the club has started negotiations with Spanish club Valencia to sign Turkish defensive midfielder Mehmet Topal (26).
Speaking to the Turkish media, Topal stated that both sides have almost agreed on the transfer and that he is very likely to join Fenerbahçe soon.Some Turkish media outlets, however, reported that the two clubs have already agreed on the player's transfer.
Topal played for Fenerbahçe rival Galatasaray from 2006 to 2010. Later, he was transferred to Valencia for 5 million Euros. Fenerbahçe reportedly agreed to sign Valencia as a midfielder for 4.5 million Euros. Fenerbahçe Chairman Ali Yıldırım recently stated that the club will be signing two defenders and two midfielders.
