Turkey’s Spor Toto Super League side Eskişehirspor is set to play against Scotland’s Saint Johnstone in the second qualifying round of The UEFA Europa League on July 19 unless the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) lifts a ban on Beşiktaş.
Eskişehirspor qualified to take part in the Europa League after UEFA barred Beşiktaş from European competitions for one year for misleading the European football organization about its finances. The İstanbul team has appealed the UEFA decision at the CAS and a final decision is expected on July 5. Eskişehirspor Chairman Halil Ünal said at a press conference on Monday that his club is getting ready for the game as if they will definitely be there.
