A newborn puma has become the feature attraction at the Faruk Yalçın Zoo in Kocaeli’s Darıca district for both visitors and zoo employees.

The mother puma, called “Pumi,” has been at the zoo for two years and her baby now attracts a crowd of visitors to their enclosure. The baby mostly sleeps and drinks mother’s milk. The zoo’s veterinarian, Elçin Göktaş, told the Anatolia news agency that births at the zoo usually start in early spring and continue through to the end of summer. The first baby animal born this year was delivered two months ago by a Chinese Muntjac deer, according to the vet.
