Elazığspor’s new goalkeeper Vanja Ivesa has said his team needs the constant support of their fans, regardless of the results of their games.
Elazığspor will play in the upcoming season of the Spor Toto Super League for the first time in four years after the eastern Turkish team was relegated to the second division in 2008. The Croatian goalkeeper, who joined Elazığspor after playing for the Super League side Eskişehirspor for four years, said in a statement published on the club’s website on Sunday that he preferred Elazığspor because of coach Bülent Uygun. Emphasizing that a hard season awaits Elazığspor, Ivesa said: “When I went to Eskişehir four years ago, Eskişehirspor had just advanced to the Super League. We had a hard year. That’s why we now need to work together [in Elazığspor]. We will become exhausted in the next 365 days, but I believe we’ll overcome it.” Ivesa added that the team would therefore need their fans’ support.
