Honda aims at global emissions reduction

25 June 2012 /
Japanese carmaker Honda has announced an ambitious new plan to slash the carbon emissions of its motor vehicles, promising under its “Blue Skies for Our Children” campaign to improve vehicle mileage and dramatically reduce emissions.

The Blue Skies initiative will seek to reduce the emissions of the company’s cars, trucks and motorbikes by 30 percent of their 2000 level by the year 2020. The company has already achieved a 9.5 percent emissions reduction for cars, 13.5 percent for trucks and 24 percent for motorbikes as of 2012, say company officials.
