C4 explosive found in Tunceli province

A 12-kilogram tube containing C4 explosive was found in Tunceli province on Monday during an operation conducted to capture terrorists who opened fire on a gendarmerie unit near a Tunceli village.
A unit had been stationed in the area in order to carry out plans to build a gendarmerie post in Tunceli's Alacık village. The temporary base was attacked by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday.
In the ensuing operation, gendarmerie forces found C4 explosive packed inside a tube. The explosive was detonated at the scene by a bomb disposal unit. Gendarmerie sources said an operation to locate the terrorists is still under way in the region.
