Barzani condemned Tuesday's attack in which eight Turkish soldiers were killed, and said: “I want this fight to end immediately. I also condemn this incident. This fight only causes bloodshed.”
Furthermore, Barzani thanked Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his efforts in solving the Kurdish issue.
Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç commented on Barzani's words on Thursday, saying Turkey is seeking more support from Barzani.
Arınç further added that pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) leader Selahattin Demirtaş's call for the PKK to lay down its arms is not enough and that the government expects the BDP to take concrete steps against the terrorist organization.
