Moroccan midfielder Oussama Assaidi arrived in İstanbul on Wednesday evening to negotiate his transfer from Dutch team Heerenveen to Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.
He had dinner with Galatasaray assistant coaches Ümit Davala and Hasan Şaş, and manager Bülent Tulun on Galatasaray Island. Turkish media outlets reported that the initial negotiations were positive while they were to meet again later on Thursday. Born on Aug. 15, 1988, Assaidi started his professional football career at FC Omniworld of Holland. After two years with that team, he moved to De Graafschap in 2008. The next year he was acquired by Heerenveen. He has scored 20 goals in 78 appearances. He has also played for the Moroccan national football team since 2011.
