Helvacıoğlu pays tribute to contemporary cinema greats

Acclaimed contemporary Turkish composer Erdem Helvacıoğlu, best known for his work in electronic music, pays tribute to 11 great filmmakers on his new album, released in the US in May via the record label Innova Records.

 Titled “Eleven Short Stories,” the album features 11 songs played on a prepared piano and each of the songs were inspired by the work of - - and dedicated to - - 11 film directors, including Kim Ki-Duk, Theo Angelopoulos, Jane Campion, Darren Aronofsky and Steven Soderbergh, among others.
