The agreement was signed by Turkish General Staff Brig. Gen. Salih Sevil and Saudi General Staff Brig. Gen. Abdulaziz Marzuq al-Juhani in Riyadh.
The agreement will give soldiers from Saudi Arabia the chance to study at Turkey's military schools.
Turkey's ambassador to Riyadh, Ahmet Muhtar Gün, told the Cihan news agency that the framework agreement on military cooperation signed between Turkey and Saudi Arabia came into effect in March. “This time our military team headed by Sevil visited Riyadh to sign a cooperation agreement on military education,” said Gün, adding that this agreement will provide opportunities for the military forces of both sides to participate in joint military operations. Gün also said joint efforts will be made to advance bilateral cooperation in the field of military and defense.
