Monday's traffic accidents claim seven lives

Traffic accidents across Turkey on Monday claimed the lives of seven people and left five more injured.

A traffic accident that left four dead occurred in the northwestern province of Tekirdağ when a car, driven by Vecdet Eriş, spun out of control and careered into the sea. Eriş and his wife and passenger Aysel Eriş died at the scene, while passengers Ahmet Gülhan and his wife, Zeynep Gülhan, died at a hospital to which they were taken after the incident. According to reports, the children of the two families were engaged and going to marry soon.

Another individual was killed in a traffic accident that occurred in Adana's Ceyhan district on Monday. Bekir Yürekli, who was driving his family from Mersin to Şanlıurfa, stopped his car in a highway emergency lane near the Çakaldere village to take something out of the trunk. A car sped up from behind and hit Yürekli after he stepped out of his car. The man died at the scene and the driver of the other car was detained by the gendarmerie.

Two more people died in separate traffic accidents in Mardin's Nusaybin district and Bursa's Karacabey district. The accident in Karacabey also left five injured.
