National team holds first practice session

The team practiced shots on the goal as coach Abdullah Avcı said the group was meeting in anticipation of their first match against Georgia’s national team on Thursday. First-choice keeper Volkan Demirel was conspicuously absent from the Monday practice, and Avcı told reporters that Demirel was receiving special training after suffering minor injuries while practicing with his team, Fenerbahçe, earlier in the month.
