A minibus traveling on the Şanlıurfa-Diyarbakır highway went off the road and overturned, killing three and injuring 10 others. Due to roadwork, the highway was reduced to a single lane at the time of the crash, probably contributing to the incident.
The passengers were returning from a visit to the mausoleum of Veysel Karani in the southeastern province of Siirt. Mustafa Taş and Hamza Yıldız died at the scene, while Şerif Karaağaç died at the hospital. Their bodies were taken to the Şanlıurfa Research and Training Hospital, while the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
