Galatasaray’s Melo was talk of the town in Super Final

Champion Galatasaray’s Felipe Melo was the most popular player of the Super Final games, which took place after the 34-week regular season to determine the final league table for the top four spots.
According to İstanbul-based Interpress, a media monitoring agency, Melo was mentioned in 1,236 written news reports during the one-month-long Super Final championship playoffs, which ended last Saturday, in Turkey’s national and local newspapers and magazines. The second-most-mentioned player was Johan Elmander, Galatasaray’s Swedish striker, with 937 stories referring to him. Trabzonspor striker Burak Yılmaz, also the goal king of the past season, came third with 932 news reports mentioning him. Other football players who made it to the 10-person list were: Miroslav Stoch (Fenerbahçe), Emre Belözoğlu (Fenerbahçe), Ricardo Quaresma (Beşiktaş), Manuel Fernandes (Beşiktaş), Alex de Souza (Fenerbahçe), Emmanuel Eboue (Galatasaray) and Fernando Muslera (Galatasaray).
