Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Özel met with his American counterpart, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey, in Washington on Thursday.

Gen. Dempsey welcomed Özel with full military honors at the Pentagon, after which Dempsey hosted a luncheon in Özel's honor.

Özel is currently on an official visit to Washington and is scheduled to meet with other top brass at the Pentagon later in the day. Gen. Özel is also expected to meet with US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and attend a dinner hosted by Gen. Dempsey and his spouse, Deanie Dempsey.

Pentagon spokesperson Cdr. Scott McIlnay said that at the meeting the two chiefs of staff discussed a wide variety of security issues, including Turkey's leading role in its region.

US is not equal
Have you noticed that all American generals fit and Turkish generals a bit over weight and with a belly?

Hope we in Pakistan have real democracy and not by the corrupt who sell the country and reduce it to poverty and stone age. Here is a ...
