Doğtaş eyes 40 pct growth in 40th year

10 May 2012, Thursday /TODAY'S ZAMAN
Doğtaş Mobilya, one of Turkey's leading furniture firms, has set itself the target of expanding by 40 percent this year over 2011.

The fast-growing company celebrates the 40th anniversary of its establishment this year. Established in Çanakkale in 1972, Doğtaş today serves customers at 200 stores both in Turkey and abroad. The firm export products to 65 countries.

Doğtaş ended last year with 34 percent growth compared to 2010. Crowned the “most popular furniture brand" by Capital magazine in 2011, Doğtaş stands among the three largest Turkish furniture firms with the highest net profits and exports. It is also listed among the 500 largest firms in Turkey.

Evaluating the company's aspirations for further growth, Doğtaş Executive Board Manager Davut Doğan says the company expects to continue the successful performance of recent years in 2012. “We have had a very fruitful past year and 2012 will be a year in which we develop new strategies to expand our presence in local and foreign markets,” he explained.

Doğan says the company also expects to increase exports by 40 percent this year over the preceding 12 months. The company exported 30 percent more products last year compared to 2010.
