Galatasaray’s Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo has told GSTV that he appreciates coach Fatih Terim’s decision to allow him to stay in the İstanbul club after he had a fight with his Spanish teammate Albert Riera last week.
Terim said earlier this week that he was considering forgiving Melo and Riera after the rest of his players requested that they be allowed to stay. Melo said such arguments are seen during trainings, but what happened after their row was unacceptable. “Everybody knows how sorry I am. That was a first in my career. It shouldn’t have happened,” he said, adding he apologized, and Riera accepted it. Melo said he was upset during the time he was away from the team. Looking on the bright side, Melo said the attitude of the team towards him motivated him to play better.
