İstanbul Modern will keep its doors open until 10 p.m. on Sunday for the occasion, the museum announced in a written statement on Tuesday.
World Art Day, to be celebrated annually on April 15 -- the birthday of Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci -- starting this year, was proposed by the Turkish Committee of the International Association of Fine Arts (UPSD) and unanimously approved during the 17th general assembly of the International Association of Art (IAA) in 2011, held in Mexico.
The İstanbul Modern is currently hosting three exhibitions: “La La La Human Steps: A Selection from the Collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen,” “After Yesterday,” a selection from the museum’s own photography collection, and its permanent exhibition, “New Works, New Horizons.”
